[ Hien's pokemon are mostly useless in this scenario today, despite having 12 tokens of obedience aka ribbons and badges. He's mostly given up on them, in which they're all staying inside their pokeballs after he rounded them up and into the cloak where they won't come out no matter how much they want to. No one wants to look at the void in the face.
The hammerspace inventory is also what makes Hien look like he's very underprepared for investigating the volcano. He has the usual mask on with his cloak. He also mostly wears neutral colors, more leaning towards dark gray and black, so he's just standing there, peering up at the volcano. His shadow arm is busy eating lava that's flowing down his way though, so he doesn't really feel the need to dodge. ]
