[Closed to Rhel]
Who: Hythlodaeus and Rhel
Where: The Pokecenter
When: End of the month, day of Hythlo's arrival
What: Rhel explains things to a robe man who's dripping on the sofa.
[Truth to tell, he is much drier now that when the conversation started, which is just as well. He has bigger things to worry about right now.]
Gods? That is... somewhat troubling.
[His experience with gods is limited, however. The last one he saw was Zodiark.]
What could they gain from keeping people here? And the constant rain must be wreaking havoc on the other creatures as well.

Why do I feel like that is aimed at my people? No need to answer that, of course.
[He bends forward, resting his elbows on his knees.]
... You know the history of Amaurot, yes? I confess I feel more strongly about this disruption of natural order here than I might have otherwise. Is there aught we can do to investigate?
no subject
We have been--most of us have been here for near a month now. But with our powers all seemingly taken from us, there isn't much we can do at this moment.
no subject
[Rhel totally knows about the whole "can see souls" thing, right.]
I should like to join the investigation. Is it a coordinated effort? Everything seems to be in quite a disarray here...
no subject
It's...an effort. Everyone more or less has just been looking into whatever they can and coming together to share interesting bits and pieces, but that's been about it. It has been working, though.
no subject
I see. I shall join the investigation on the morrow, then... after a meal and some rest, of course.
[He sighs and runs his hand down his face, but carefully - seemingly tired of the lights and people around them, Hades has taken refuge in Hythlo's robes to nap.]
Speaking of rest... I do not know the first thing of caring for these creatures. I do not think Hades has had a bite to eat since we met...

[Rhel pats down her pockets and then starts to dig in her bag until she pulls out a small bag of assorted berries to hand to Hythlodaeus. In the same motion, her wind-up G'raha falls from the bag and onto Flicker, who just makes a face until Rhel can get it off her head.]
Ah, sorry.
no subject
Oh my. Do you like dolls, lady Rhel?
no subject
[No shame. Rhel fixes G'raha's hair before putting him back in her bag.]
I've quite the collection back home and usually keep five or so in my bag, but this is the only one that came with me. I've this one, this one but in another outfit, several that float, multiple that look like friends I bought purely to see their faces, and some that may not be mammets at all but tiny voidsent that are harmless and amusing to leave around my elder sisters when I visit.
[Rhel is well aware that she is a bit...odd when it comes to her mammets, okay.]

Ah, I can see you are a true aficionado! It is curious to me, to be honest. We, too, had a tradition of creating miniature replicas of things or living creatures... smallscale concepts, naught more than toys and education for the children, but enjoyable to create nonetheless. I was quite good at it.

Headaches? Our most esteemed and eminent Emet-Selch? Unless you mean headaches for himself, in which case, you are correct. But if you want a real answer...
[He picks out a berry from the bag and twirls it in his fingers thoughtfully.]
He is very good at planning. 'Tis why he became Emet-Selch instead of me, truth to tell. I enjoy things as they are, but he sees ways to make them better.
no subject
Planning...yes, that makes sense. But yes, he was a large headache at times. Gods forbid he was "bored".
no subject
That is why you have to tire him out preemptively. That was my job too, you know.
no subject
By annoying him until he walked off for a nap?
no subject
[It is perhaps telling that he persists in using the present tense.
That consideration will likely have to wait, though, because this time he picks out a grape-like berry and pops it into his mouth. Mmm tastey]

Then he eats that one too after too-long a pause, much like a pet that you caught eating Forbidden Food.]
Oh dear. I shall keep it in mind.

no subject
... I have not eaten in a while.
no subject
Why didn't you say something--wait here, there's a store next door that sells premade meals that aren't the best but are at least edible. I can get you a couple, as well as something to drink?
no subject
I would be in your debt. Perhaps two meals would be best--I do not think they are meant for someone of my stature. Er, for a drink... Perhaps just water? It seems to be in abundance, after all.
[Alternatively, he could just go outside and stand with his mouth open. It is exactly something he would do, if only to annoy people.]

[And off Rhel goes, while her Pokemon stay behind to keep her spot safe from interlopers.
It takes a few minutes, but soon Rhel makes her way back, this time aided by her rod which she uses to sort of gently nudge people out of the way.]
Here! There was a sandwich that looked fairly fresh and, ah, something the merchant called "pizza" that looked delightfully meaty and cheesy, so I got one of each...and some "pizza" for myself.
[Rhel hands over the sandwich and the box with the pizza slice, as well as a bottle of a water.]
rhel and hythlo as the "you are safe now my child" meme
basically omg
