The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).

After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...

The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.

The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.

With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.

Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!

The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

[The question throws off the momentum of this potential fight, and Yoichi just holds his pokeball awkwardly, arm raised and ready to throw.]

Yeah. I only have one too.

[This man seems less prepared than the children, and Yoichi will try to find some way to take advantage of that.]

[Joss nods at that and opens the ball, with absolutely no frills or flourish about it. Boring. He is definitely not one of the locals.

Swablu trills happily as she's let out, swooping around Joss before... sitting on his head. He dejectedly reaches for her with one hand and gently grabs her.]

Swablu. Battle please.

[Ok, fine. She jumps out of his hand with a beep before positioning herself in front of him.

"Less prepared" sure is a way of putting it.]

[Yoichi takes note that the little bird isn't one to go for the kill immediately, unprepared and more interested in nesting in her Trainer's hair. Perhaps it's easily distracted. None of this has any bearing on actual battles, and all of his analyzing is for nothing when the outcomes are in the hands of the Pokemon themselves.

He release his Corphish, who skitters back and forth with his claws in the air; he's ready.]

Attack!

[Yoichi doesn't know what any of the moves are called, so the Corphish gets to decide himself, going with Water Gun and trying to get the Swablu in the eyes.]

[Joss's stance changes when the battle begins proper, back straighter and eyes focused on the action. Swablu, too, seems to pay more attention, and though the Water Gun comes really close she manages to avoid getting hit in the face; the jet clips a wing, instead, and she's sent spiraling backwards a bit.

Her trainer looks at her, a little worried, but her angry beeps are enough to reassure him that she's fine.]

Hmm. Fury attack.

[Swablu shakes off some droplets of water before swooping in, attempting to overwhelm Corphish by pecking at his face and joints.]

[Corphish flails at first, after a direct peck to one of his beady eyes. He curls in on himself, using Harden to try and ward off damage to the soft parts. Yoichi looks displeased; there isn't a lot of offensive attacks available yet.]

[Joss isn't particularly pleased, either, but in his case it's because he isn't used to sparring sessions where he doesn't have to do anything. It's a little offputting.

He stares at Corprish. It seems to have gone on the defensive, and he isn't sure Swablu can do much damage to its hardened carapace with her little beak. He'd need an opening again.]

Sing.

[Swablu stops her fruitless assault and tweets a soothing song. That one was decently useful when Joss had to deal with rampaging Pokémon... though it seemed to only work about every other attempt, and tended to leave Swablu open to counterattacks.]

[Like Joss, Yoichi doesn't know what do when he has to just stand idly by. It's awkward. The soothing chirping has the Corphish uncurling and moving his claw away from his undamaged eye.]

Glare!

[It's Leer, but he's close enough. The Corphish responds immediately, staring down the Swablu, but not doing anything else. One eye is bleeding, and whether that makes Corphish more or less intimidating remains to be seen.]

[Swablu, not being a particularly experienced battler, does experience a moment of "shit bro what the fuck" when Corphish stares her down with his bleeding eyeball.

Joss, being even less experienced, looks at his opponent's Pokémon with worry. A little blood during sparring isn't particularly noteworthy, but some injuries are worse than others. Instead of giving Swablu an order, he turns to Yoichi.]

Eye wound. Should we stop?

[Yoichi looks from Joss to the Corphish. He's determined and still Leer-ing. They've got this.]

Only if you're forfeiting.

[It's just a little blood.]

[Well... If this competitive-looking young man thinks it's fine, then it probably is. Joss doesn't know the rules to this strange sport.

He answers Yoichi with a shake of his head as he tries to remember Swablu's other abilities. Something to obscure her opponent's disconcerting gaze, maybe... She can't produce fog like the Musharna did, but...]

Mist.

[Swablu shakes her wings, a veil of droplets covering a small area around her and Corphish.]

[Corphish is disoriented by the mist, vision now obscured in his one good eye. He lashes out with his claws, snapping at the air. Yoichi doesn't know any other moves the Pokemon has, so he can only go with Water Gun again, and hope it somehow disperses the mist, however unlikely.]

Attack.

[The water gun's high pressure momentarily pierces a hole through the mist... only for Swablu to swoop in with a trill, her little talons out as she attempts to hit Corphish with a Fury Attack again.]

[The Fury Attack is successful! Corphish has run out of energy for the most part. He tries hard to defend against the flurry of talon scratches, but one slices his good eye and he is done for, flopping over onto his back, his little stick legs twitching. Yoichi sighs. He lost again.]

Congratulations.

[Joss really didn't expect a tiny bird to be stronger than an armored opponent... but then, the same could be said of him going against most of the foes he's faced.

He turns to Yoichi and gives him a respectful nod.]

Well fought.

[He looks at Corphish, then, a hint of guilt passing over his neutral expression.]

Your Pokémon. Will it be fine?

Yeah. I'll take it to the Center.

[He seems less concerned than Joss over the Pokemon. He doesn't view them as anything but tools now, after reading some articles. Corphish stops twitching, and Yoichi collects it into his pokeball.]

[That's not very mudchamp of you, Yoichi!

Works for Joss, though. He nods again, and takes his leave. He still isn't sure he likes this Pokémon battle business...]
