The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).

After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...

The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.

The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.

With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.

Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!

The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

[ It takes a while for her to come back. She almost doesn't, caught in a little conversation with the old man while she puts him in bed and he gives her a packet of peanut butter cookies he wouldn't be able to eat because of his dentures anyways.

Ala returns with the old man's wheelchair, zooming a lot faster down the hall now that it's empty, but skids to a stop in front of Hien before she can bowl him over. ]

Taxi service reporting for duty! Look, look, he gave me a tip and everything~

[ He is glad that she didn't bowl him over, or both of his forms would be wounded and he wouldn't like that. That's cute though... peanut butter cookies as a tip. ]

He's a good old man, isn't he?

[ He laughs a little. ]

[ Anybody who gives her cookies is good in her book. She goes around behind Hien and tries to poke him in the back of the knees with the seat of the chair so he'll sit... ]

I can sorta juggle! Like, one ball at a time?

[ Hien would normally dodge, but he just ends up sitting on the wheelchair. ]

Wanna try two at a time?

[ Ala would have booed him if he'd dodged. ]

Yeah, I bet I can do it! Please teach me~

[ She hops up onto the back of the chair and scooters down the hall—- stops short and leans over Hien's shoulder. ]

Also you gotta direct me where to go.

[ Sometimes you're just tired and want to sit. Ala's action is basically a convenient excuse. Though he kinda regrets it when Ala scooters him down the hall oh my god. He thought he was gonna get flung out of the wheelchair when she stopped. ]

The... multipurpose room. It's two more halls down. Kids are waiting there.

[ But he doesn't tell her to stop- or if he does, it's not before she whirls the chair around and makes an obvious effort to go fast on the wheelchair, compared to the greater care she'd taken with the old man. Hien isn't an old enough man for her to be considerate. ]

The playroom, huh... Whatcha going to do while I juggle? We gotta plan the performance before we get there!

[ It's... fun, at least once he gets used to it. He looks thoughtful. ]

Let's see... maybe I can toss you more balls to juggle? I can toss you one at a time and then you can throw one back at me. Or maybe we can both juggle and trade the balls. How good are you at that?

Um, hm...

[ She said she can juggle one ball, Hien, how good do you think she'll be at that? ]

I dunno, 'cause I've never done it before! But let's give it a try anyways.

[ Yeah. Children sure love failures that they can laugh at. Hien is down with the idea anyway. ]

Alright, I'm game. Let's do this. Onwards to the room.

[ Wow! Like Ala's going to let this be a failure; if you fail like you meant it, then it's not a failure.

Onwards towards the room, though! It's a little space with four long couches arranged in a square, clear space in the middle and a white board to one side. Most of the kids here don't look too bad, at first glance, but maybe it's because they're only allowed in the playroom if they're well enough. Either way, the kids' heads turn towards the pair of them when they enter the room, more than one of them running up to Hien and pulling at his pant legs and going "oh noooooo, what happened, mister??" ]

[ Oh, right. He's in a wheelchair. They're such good children though, Hien reaches out to pet their head gently. Here is your rank S headpats, children. ]

I'll be okay. Don't worry! Today, we're going to show you...

[ He gets out plastic balls, kinda like the kind you find from the ball pit. ]

... juggling!

[ The children beam, as children do when they get undivided attention. Also why is Hien suddenly going hard mode, I'm crying, light plastic balls are so much harder to juggle, but ig they won't hurt when they inevitably fall on their feet or fly into people's faces. ]

Yeah, mister and I are the masters at juggling! Who wants to bet how long we can keep it up without any of 'em falling to the ground?

[ One of the children pipe up, "A minute!" and the other goes "Two minutes!", but there's another one that just flat out says, "5 seconds". Hien sees you, you punk kid. He keeps smiling anyway despite the icons not doing it, because I don't want to grab another PB again like what I did with Terry. ]

Alright, let's get started then!

[ Okay, Ala. Here goes. Once they get into position, Hien will toss one ball at her with an underhand throw. ]

[ Oh, they're definitely going to have to beat five seconds now, even if they can't reach a full minute. At least one ball is easy, and Ala catches the ball with two hands and pops it back like they're playing hot potato. She is the hot potato queen. ]

[ Now Hien tosses another ball over to her while starting to juggle three on his own. Is it a successful pass...?! ]

[ It's a successful pass!! But two balls means twice as fast and instead of a catch-and-toss, Ala just sort of

bumps it back, like she's playing volleyball. They've officially met the one and a half second mark, take that, kids. ]

[ The kids watch on with awe, mostly because Ala hit it back. Hien leans in to catch it and now he's juggling four...

He tosses another ball to Ala again. Please take this one!!! ]

[ Please use your words!! Hien is very good at juggling and Ala is very good at hot potato and she sees no real reason to change what works, especially with—-

the ball slips out of her hand in surprise, no grip when there's no weight to them, but instead of lunging for it and risk ramming her head into Hien, she reaches out with her foot and bumps it back into the air with the inside of her heel, like a game of hacky sack.

Three seconds! ]

[ Hien manages to catch it once it falls back down and manages to keep the juggling going. It's well past five seconds now and the current situation feels a little bit like his life: barely held together. ]
