Post-October Event Log
Who: Everyone
Where: Throughout Mango City
When: October 29 to November 2
What: Use this time to check on your CR, help people out, or do whatever. Everyone can make their own top-levels and you don't have to use the provided prompts. Wildcard it if you want. Have fun!
The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).
After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...
The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.
The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.
With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.
Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!
The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

Whatcha sad about?
[ It's a pretty sad sight, though... broken glass everywhere. Lights still on inside and several plates of cold dinner left abandoned on the tables. ]

[The food is still there, people had to have abandoned the restaurant suddenly. Toki should feel something, but he doesn't. Those people are so far away, the connection to anything, like looking through grimy windows and thinking through fog. The girl is here beside him, but yet she's not. A dream, or a vague sensation, but not sharp or vibrant or there.]
I want-
[But he's cut off by Hana-chan pushing the restaurant door open and dashing across the floor; her zigzag movements seemingly erratic and unplanned, and yet she avoids every single shard of broken glass or other hazard. She leaps up onto one of the chairs and waves her arms in wide circles. Come in! There's food! It's stale and old and probably covered in bugs, but they are protein!]
H-hana-chan!
[It comes out late; a delayed reaction, but the Spinda has managed to pull Toki back. Things don't sound distant anymore, the buzzing of lights left on, a few people walking in the street, his own ragged breathing. It's all incredibly loud in an instant. How long has he been here, in this doorway? The sun was still on the horizon, but now the only lights come from the buildings and the scattered unbroken street lights.]

[ Ala is all for stealing stale, partially eaten food off other people's plates, but there is glass everywhere and the roof could still cave in at any second and this weird little bear thing might get hurt? She is no good when people are physically hurt, you can't laugh an open wound away. So she takes Toki's wrist and tugs him through the door after his Spinda, boots crunching on broken glass before she thinks to look behind her at Toki's feet to see if he's wearing proper shoes, I never know with Toki. Either way, after that, she's more careful to follow in Spinda's footsteps to avoid the glass. ]
What did you find, Hana-chan?
no subject
Hana-chan waves Ala over excitedly. Look! Look! A half-eaten burger! It's the famous double decker; the meat covered with congealed fat in places, the tomatoes droopy, the secret sauce hardened and dried up. Hana-chan picks off the onions and sets them in a pile on the table. Yucky!]
no subject
[ This is at the onions, but also at everything else. ]
You don't want this one- the bread's gonna be all soggy at the bottom! C'mon, let's go to the kitchen! I bet there's tons of burgers we just gotta reheat on the stove and we can make quadruple deckers if we want!
no subject
Yeah! Hana-chan, remember when you ate that donut off the floor and it made you sick? You can't eat this, not without me testing it first! But the kitchen has fresh things!
[If the electricity hadn't gone out for hours and everything in the refrigerators died.]
no subject
No testing- you're gonna get sick too! Let's go~ I've always wanted to hop over the counter, like—
hup!
[ Like in the movies! one hand to boost herself up onto the counter and leaping up so she can slide across the counter over to the other side. ]
no subject
Of course, Toki has to try it too, and he can't even get on the counter.]
Wait, okay, I need like, to run too!
[His second try, he makes it onto the counter, but instinctively uses his right hand to place all his weight on, only resulting in the material of the cast sliding on the counter and Toki collapsing onto it face-first. He whines and then rolls off and onto the floor. But at least he's on the other side.]
no subject
There we go~ You made it! Just like in the movies!
no subject
[Everything hurts, and he wants to lie on the floor forever, but he gets up, albeit slowly, for Hana-chan. She deserves those quadruple burgers.]
Onward!
no subject
Up there, where they keep the extra buns! Can you grab those ones? We need the ones with the seeds on top, so they get extra toasty~ Hana-chan and I will take care of the meat and the pickles and the tomatoes and no onions.
no subject
Okay!
[There's a convenient step-stool, but it's a precarious balancing on the very top with slippery flipflops. Toki stretches his arm out as far as he can to grab the buns on the top shelf. Just a little more... He finally grabs one bag and yanks it down. Several others are dislodged and rain down upon him as he wobbles on the stool... and falls. When Ala and Hana-chan return from their task, Toki will be lying there surrounded in various types of burger buns. He holds up the ones with seeds.]
I... got them...
no subject
Good job~ What do you want on your burger, ketchup or mayo?
[ Everything else is her decision. ]
no subject
[Why choose? Hana-chan tries to help him up, but only until he's in a sitting position, then she opens one of the bags of hamburger buns. Ooh.]
no subject
Hm. ]
Hey, Hana-chan, you're all red and stuff, sort of. Can you make fire?
no subject
Why are the tomatoes inside, to keep the burger from getting dry?
[Logic. Hana-chan looks at the grill and pouts. She can't make fire.]
no subject
[ Logic prevails.
Ala stares at Hana-chan for a moment longer, but fire continues to not happen, so she goes digging around in the drawers for matches. She pockets most of them and uses one to light the stove, though it keeps clicking even after it's lit and she's not sure if there's a gas leak somewhere or not.
There's a fire! That's the most important thing. Burgers are happening. ]
Hey, how 'bout you two go clear off a table or something, and I'll bring it all out when it's done?
no subject
Okay! We'll find a nice spot~!
[If Ala doesn't blow herself up, she'll find Toki and Hana-chan at a table by a broken window, looking out over the street. There are three places set up, and each setting has two forks for some reason. Hana-chan has left a couple of wilted lettuce leaves in the center of the table in lieu of a vase of flowers.]
no subject
She comes back with three plates stacked up high with burgers, each with a pair of toasted buns and six patties, tomatoes stuffed inside and slices of pickles in between. On the very very top of the buns are (: faces drawn with a mix of the sauce, belatedly added because she forgot and didn't want to destack the burgers squirt it between. There is no cheese. The burgers are very wobbly without anything to really hold them together; toothpicks were considered for a moment but then Toki was considered for an even longer moment and then decided against altogether. ]
Ta-da~ Eat up, you two! You'd better finish the whole thing, 'kay? Or else!
no subject
They're huge!
[Toki smiles at the sauce drawn happy face. It's so cute! Hana-chan takes a moment to examine hers for onions, before nodding in appreciation and digging in. The burger stack is too big for her to hold, so it's torn off in pieces and she shoves them into her mouth messily.
Toki thinks they're a bit raw tasting and that tomato in the center was a bad idea, but he pretends he likes it because Ala made them.]

He ducks down to 'get it' and chews on nothing as he reappears in his seat.]
Mmm!
