The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).

After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...

The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.

The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.

With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.

Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!

The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

I don't heal when I'm not in my default form, but I just don't feel like dealing with the pain right now. That's a future me problem.

[ His tail wags a little while looking up at Dokja though. He seems to just kinda get it. Dokja can also probably get the feeling that Hien isn't really all that tight lipped, based on the information he just gave him about being abnormal. He's free to ask why he has this smol doge form instead of something like... a majestic one as a wolf. ]

I see, so simply a temporary measure to avoid it.

[ It makes sense? He would probably do the same honestly in the same boat. But really, the thought keeps coming back to him and he really can't hold back from asking in the end. He's too curious. ]

So, why a puppy? Wouldn't something bigger be more better? [ You know.. to defend against? Claws and teeth of something like a wolf would certainly be something. But a puppy.... ]

[ ..Honestly, he probably shouldn't, but he actually. Really wants to know. Is it worth figuring out such information? Probably not. Does that stop him? Obviously not. ]

And what's nonacceptable? [ Ah. A blep. Siwoo mimics and bleps back. ]

[ Hien doesn't really have much to hide, so it's pretty easy getting the info out of him. Mostly because Dokja seems well accustomed to the abnormal. ]

Who are you exactly? [ Or rather, what. Because yes, outer god vibes. He doesn't seem disbelieving of the description, but rather more curious, if not suspicious. ]

[ Joonghyuk suddenly. Appears? And picks up Hien by the scruff. ]

He's Laurent's friend.

[ He's definitely not lying, and doesn't seem to mind being picked up by the scruff. ]

I'm a worldhopper now and I will be a monster eventually.

..Laurent? [ So, they're from the same world? ..Was? Worldhopping.

Wait, this is a lot of information at once, slow down. ]

Why does that sound strangely familiar.. [ A particular outer god does come to mind. ]

And you somehow got sucked into hopping to this world.

[ ..Okay, stop carrying the poor pup like that. Dokja is gonna reach out and scoop the dog from his companion's hands and swatting to let him go. That way he can return him to his cloak. He's harmless like this, why are you even trying to be intimidating?? ]

[ Don't think about him, Dokja!! Joonghyuk's eyes narrow when the other man steals the Chihuahua of Destruction from him. It's not like Hien minded being held like that? It also put them in a better position, too.

Humph. He will stay quiet because Dokja is asking some important questions. ]

[ Oh, thank you, Dokja. Though, yeah, he didn't mind being held by the scruff, but this is fine too. He's fine with a lot of stuff. ]

I guess. I'm usually on a higher plane of existence, I think. There's a lot of Concepts--like how there's a lot of Laurent's--one in each universe. But there's only one of me. There are a multiple Laurent Heaths across the worlds, but there will only ever be one Hien Callias.

[ Kinda like how there's only one Secretive Plotter, but a thousand other Yoo Joonghyuk's, but Hien doesn't know to that extent to draw a comparison. ]

I'm an Overseer. I protect world balances and stuff like I said before.

[ Dokja's reply comes out short, but he thinks on it. He's certainly making some comparisons. It makes it easier to wrap his head around more quickly. He glances up at Joonghyuk, curious to his own reaction, before looking back to the doge. ]

What warrants protecting? [ After all, in Laurent's situation.. would one not say that the world was not balanced? Did he not try and fix the situation there? Siwoo bleps in his own response. ]

[ ... And again, Joonghyuk stays quiet with a squint to Hien even though he bleps. Minji, too, bleps when she sees Siwoo do it. She wants to be part of the group!

To him, it sounds like Hien lives something like an outer god, but. Different. ]

People sometimes want to watch the world burn for various reasons. I go put a stop to that.

Though these two... They both know Laurent. ]

If you're worried about the case of Laurent's world... whichever he's from with the ten that I know of, I can't interfere with that, because that already happened before I became an Overseer. I don't really die either... when I "die", I just get temporarily kicked out of the world and I can go back in as long as I meet the requirement.

[ Though he did say that "if he dies, he'll become a shadow monster that eats worlds", so. ]

The shadow monster is an inevitable future of mine, and only happens when my existence "expires". I dunno when that'll be.

[ If there's a snap of his phone's camera, Dokja pretends it isn't a thing. The pair of Eevees and a dog are blepping. It's something worth remembering okay. ]

I see. [ ..What's the point of an Overseer if he can't interfere with something that's already happened. As if such a thing would stop someone like Dokja. He loses some interest at that with a tilt of his head. So, basically, this guy would be no help if they were to show up to Laurent's world to save him. If time has a play it would be him not yet being an Overseer. Well, so much for that plan. ]

So dying in a world isn't the same as you simply expiring. [ From what he's gathering anyways, he rubs the back of his neck and holds back a sigh. He really thought he was getting somewhere with this, but it seems like their initial plans to save Laurent stay unmoving. ]

Does anyone else know about your inevitable future? [ For example, the Concepts. He imagines they would have to put an end to that future when the time comes. Unless they want their worlds to be eaten. ]

But you can interfere with other worlds.

[ Joonghyuk is letting it sink that they may not be able to commit to their promise to that Laurent, but that doesn't mean they can't honor it with other lines. It's a last resort, but he thinks it's something they have to consider if it means they can gain allies.

However, how Hien puts time on display is interesting... Only because they come from a world where the past, present, and future technically exist simultaneously. Crossing his arms, he closes his eyes and tries to think some more. ]

Even when watching from the outside, there are restrictions.

[ Hien did mention that Laurent Heath doesn't have a hand in saving Hyunjung Kang in any of the involved worlds to Joonghyuk before. He wonders if he told Dokja. Hien squints at Dokja because of the phone picture though. Hello??? What was that??

Hien kinda feels bad though. He doesn't like crushing hope, but sometimes you have to stop chasing something that doesn't exist. He also doesn't want to mention the other Overseers... because he gets the feeling they might get mad. ]

Sorry, I'm not some omniscient existence. Only a few people know where I come from, but it doesn't really matter.

Well, we've gone against impossible odds plenty of times before.

[ Ideally the reader would have taken that chance for more allies, especially one who knows of their friend. However, even if things seem unmoving, Dokja has never let that stop him.

He doesn't need to say anything else about it. They'll find a way. He reaches out to pat Joonghyuk briefly, his indication that he's going to move on, while also praying just a little he doesn't realize that Dokja technically stepped out after recovering from the recent incident for some fresh air. Oops. ]

Who knows, maybe we can do something for you too. [ It's said lightly to Hien. It's not a promise, just some simple words. In any case, he's done here, his curiosity is mostly sated. Though before he leaves he points at Joonghyuk while referring to Hien. ] Anyways, if you think this guy deserves a bite to his ankles, I'd say you would be correct.

[ Okay, bye bye, let's go Siwoo! It is our time for an escape. ]

[ Or else is the implication after, but Joonghyuk sees no need to say it out loud. His eyes trail off to watch Dokja scuttle away like a cockroach with his fluffy baby, then his gaze returns to the pupper. Despite everything Hien has said, there's still this resolve that burns in his eyes.

If there isn't a chance, they just have to make one. He ends it with this: ]

We won't be giving up. [ ... ] Don't lose hope.

[ He's going to go after Dokja because he has A Bad Feeling. Minji, too, looks at Hien, then follows after he master. ]

Though there is no hope in something that can't be returned to, without a chance to be made. He doesn't feel like refuting their hope, and wonders if it's kinder to let them climg onto it, or just end it now.

It looks like they made up their mind, and Hien isn't going to change it. Good luck, you two. ]
