The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).

After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...

The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.

The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.

With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.

Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!

The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

[ Hien lifts the bread to see what's inside and puts it back down. As if anything would change, he bites into the sandwich again. Still. No taste. ]

... Nothing. There's nothing wrong with your sandwich.

[ He seems a little thoughtful as he finishes the rest. ]

There's probably something wrong with me.

[ He furrows his eyebrows, concerned. ]

Are you feeling alright?

Apart from still recovering from the fatigue and my arm, yeah.

[ Those two should be things Fai already knows, and it doesn't seem Hien is lying either. ]

I can't taste anything.

[ ... ]

Can't smell either. This feels like I'm in the void.

[ Huh. Fai can't help but get worried and he has to reign himself in from fussing over Hien too much. ]

Did something else happen? You didn't get injured in some other way, did you? Have you been getting enough rest?

[ So much for really reigning himself in. ]

[ Even though Fai is just asking him normally, Hien can't help but to feel slightly overwhelmed. ]

Uh... no, no, and yes?

[ It sounds like a question because it feels like Fai is looming over him mentally. ]

[ It's because he definitely is.

Fai sits back a little, relaxing. ]

Alright. [ He believes Hien. ] I wonder what's going on, then... do you think it may be one of those strange things that just happens here from time to time?

I dunno, but strange things happen to me all the time regardless of my location, so I can't really rule out anything.

[ Yeah, he's used to it. ]

[ Now that Hien's done eating, Fai's going to get to work on changing his bandages out. ]

Really? What are some of those strange things?

One time, I went to a world where my other self's boyfriend was messing things up and he came from another world. That boyfriend's other self was fighting the boyfriend, I had to stop the fight, but I got separated onto another dimensional plane and had to be stuck there until it was over, only because I was a living pinball and I had to score more than a million points to leave.

[ The bandage changing doesn't hurt as much this time, so he doesn't seem to be in too much pain. ]

[ He starts out by cleaning everything, and he's glad that Hien doesn't seem to be in as much pain as before. ]

...Wow. I have nothing on a story like that! You really have gone through some strange things.

There was another where I was in a video game called the "seal princess". It was 16-bit and I had to see everything as squares. It was a vision nightmare.

[ 0/10 do not recommend super Mario ripoff ]

[ He was about to ask what 16-bit was but Hien mentioning that everything was square-shaped helps fill in that gap a bit. ]

I was in a video game myself in one world. I didn't find out it was a game until I died, though.

[ He's finished cleaning and starts applying the ointment. ]

Did you fall into a pit--

[ OKAY NEVER MIND things hurt again ]

[ He immediately moves his hands away from Hien's arm at that hitch in his speech. He'll go ahead and answer his question though, while he waits for Hien's pain to subside. ]

I didn't. Another world traveler interfered in the game and killed me. You should have seen how mad Kuro-tan was.

[ Hien quietly breathes out. God... everything hurts. ]

You can keep going. I bet he was the type that yelled that he'd kill you because you died.

[ Fai nods and starts putting it back on.

He laughs. ]

He is! Actually, that's exactly what he told me when he saw me again. Although, I think he just wants to kill me in general.

Ah, yeah.

[ Solidarity of dealing with annoying smiley blonds. ]

I think I understand him a little more.

You want to kill me too? Even though I'm taking care of you?

[ He even brought you food, Hien! Not that it matters much, since he couldn't even taste it. ]

Maybe not that far, but I did have to hold back my urge in punching you sometimes.

[ That's why he got the fly swatter to curb his desires. Yeah. ]

... I feel less of that nowadays.

[ He can't help but let out a light laugh at that, finishing up putting the ointment on his wounds. ]

You do? Have I grown on you?

Yeah.

[ Unfortunately for Fai, unfortunately for Hien. Probably for two different reasons. ]

Looks like your friendly front really does well in attracting people after all.

[ Fai's quiet as he unrolls some bandages. ]

You make it sounds like I'm a mean person underneath that!

[ As if he didn't threaten to punch out Hien last time they talked... ]

Being friendly makes traveling easier. People are more willing to help you if you help them in turn.

I know.

[ He's well aware, but he doesn't want to sometimes. ]

Maybe I shod be lucky that you're so tolerant.

[ He starts wrapping up Hien's arm. ]

What do you mean?

[ Fai doesn't feel like he's that tolerant, since he tends to annoy people more than they annoy him anyway. ]

People usually don't enjoy sass being sent back at them. Or being called a clown. Or having their face hit with a fly swatter--
