Post-October Event Log
Who: Everyone
Where: Throughout Mango City
When: October 29 to November 2
What: Use this time to check on your CR, help people out, or do whatever. Everyone can make their own top-levels and you don't have to use the provided prompts. Wildcard it if you want. Have fun!
The nightmare is finally over and the aftermath sinks in. Wherever you are, news will eventually spread that the pokemon stopped their rampaging status, looking confused and some horrified by what had happened around them. Mari's Steelixes are finally off their guard duty, people are crying out of various emotions and people who are physically well enough flood out of the shelters in an attempt to search for their loved ones out there, whether they be people or pokemon. Some are reunited, some are not. Either way, people are in this together, comforting others over their losses and rebuilding the city. There's been quite a lot of destruction apart from the Pokemon Center and the hospital, after all. Some buildings are missing a roof, holes on the side wall, doors knocked down... some are unfortunate to have been entirely blasted away by an extremely strong rampaging pokemon's hyper beam (thanks, random Hydreigon).
After most people calm from their initial high emotions, the reconstruction starts. Of course, they also contact the people from Toran who helped with reconstruction efforts. Looks like the handymen will never rest...
The Pokemon Center is looking for additional manpower, getting pokeballs here to there, labeling whose pokemon are whose in things looking like incubators for those in queue of getting healed, and managing supplies. They are extremely short-staffed right now, so they will be looking for any help possible. Though, if you cause too much trouble than helping, you may be politely asked to leave or to help somewhere else. They don't have time for this. During the nights, the Pokemon Center may be crowded. After all, many people just lost their homes. They got nowhere to go.
The hospital is similar, in which they are also short-staffed. They're looking for disaster volunteers, and especially pokemon with healing capabilities to lessen the load on doctors and nurses who need to care for the more gravely wounded. With more help, the hospital will no longer seem as chaotic as before, but more along the lines of an orderly busy time. It helps that the people are no longer stuck inside due to the ongoings of the events outside, so the hospital is emptier than before, compared to when it was jam packed. The mental health department is also using Drowzees and Munnas to give people good dreams and eating nightmares without repercussions so that they can have a good night's rest. Not all wounds are physical, after all.
With the local Mart's help and other establishments, some people band together to supply people with food and drinks in a very open area in the park. Take a breather and eat something. If you look like you're running yourself ragged, one of the townspeople will drag you to eat and drink a proper meal. They don't need another patient in the hospital right now.
Remember that boba shop? Or those restaurants that you had the delicious meat from? Their damages vary from a broken window to being absolutely trashed. Pokemon and people alike are helping with moving the debris and cleaning up the mess. Someone piped up about recycling broken glass to make brand new windows with fire pokemon and proper glass making methods, so please don't throw them away!
The Radio Tower and the cemetery tower? They're both closed off to the public right now with yellow police caution tapes all around them. Your friendly policemen who all look the same advise nearby people to stay away from the two buildings at the moment. Please don't cause trouble or ask them questions... they're tired as it is like everyone else and they're not allowed to say anything for now, if ever. Your energy is better used elsewhere.

Ah... I mostly use offensive magic.
[ In other words, don't expect him to heal anyone. He can't do that. ]
I don't have most of it back just yet, though.
no subject
[ no you fucking don't ]
That's so cool, though. Being a wizard and all. I acted as one in a play back home, but meeting one IRL sure is something else. It's an honor.
no subject
It's not an honor, I promise.
[ Itaru, please. Meeting Fai should not be considered an honor for any reason, if he's being honest. ]
I didn't know you act.
[ That earns him some cool points. ]
no subject
Mm, I belong to a theater company back home. I still have my day job as a salaryman, but acting has also become my passion as of late.
[ aside from viddy games. ]
Wanna see my cool wizard impression sometime? I totally nailed that role, you know.
no subject
[ He's obviously just teasing with that last bit, but he does want to see it. What are wizards like in his world? Sure, it would just be the version of one in a play, but he's curious. ]
I had no idea you were an actor. That explains why the girls are all over you here.
[ It's that actor energy. They can sense it, probably. ]
no subject
he just had to laugh at fai's comment, though. ]
What the heck does that mean? I don't really mind harems in my games, but...
[ he trails off, remembering someone. sigh. ]
Well, that doesn't matter. I'm not here for love or any of that stuff anyway.
no subject
[ Mostly in the ones with modern day technology, but he doesn't add that.
He picks up on the way Itaru trails off, though. They talked about love but Itaru definitely didn't trail off like that... ]
But...?
[ Does Itaru like someone? Give him the tea. ]
no subject
[ there are a lot of perks that come with being an actor, yeah. but ah, does he really have to spill the tea... ]
N-Never mind what I said. I'm not even sure if it meant something.
[ ... ]
Can we sit for a moment?
no subject
[ He looks around for a bench of some kind, but there's not one in this spot. There is a grassy area, though, so maybe they can sit under a tree. He'll start heading towards one. ]
If it meant something to you, then it did mean something.
[ Fai just wants to get that out there before Itaru changes the subject completely. ]
no subject
I mean... I guess? I'm not really sure, though. But like -- you said you lived for so long, right? And had been to a lot of worlds?
[ ughhhhh he doesn't wanna ask this. but he has been thinking about it on and off ever since he got separate from his first group of isekai-havers. he's got to get to the bottom of this now. ]
Basically, have you ever liked someone in one of those kinda worlds? Knowing that you have to leave one day?
no subject
Ah... not really.
[ If he's honest, Fai has never let himself have feelings for someone. He doesn't think a relationship with him would be worth it for someone else, not with the... everything that he comes with.
But he'd be lying if he denied the fact that Kurogane briefly flashed through his mind. He didn't develop feelings for him, but it's been a very long time since he's spent so much time with someone and gotten (somewhat) close to them like he has with Kurogane. ]
I was never in a world long enough to have feelings for someone there. [ He looks at Itaru. ] I'm assuming you were?
no subject
[ he flushes. boy, where does he even start. ]
I'm not sure, actually. It's hard to explain, but before I spawned here, I... wasn't myself in some of the worlds I've been in? It's like I was living the alternate-universe version of myself until we managed to solve the problem of that world. It's like that with a girl I met, so I wasn't really sure of how I felt about her even now.
[ he looks down on his lap and sighs out a sheepish laugh. ]
I'm not even sure if I'll ever see her again. But I already knew that coming into this isekai business so it's not that I'm super bummed over it, yet...
[ aaaaaaa ]
no subject
I'm sure you're still a little disappointed you can't see her. It's always sad, saying goodbye to people you don't know if you'll see again.
[ Whether or not you happen to have feelings for them. But he's going to circle back to what Itaru said earlier. ]
Even if you weren't always yourself, if you liked her even after coming to your senses, I think it's safe to say that you did like her.
no subject
[ like, it's nice to get a confirmation from fai, but this is just making itaru blush even more as the realization dawns on him.
but that fades just as quickly with a dejected sigh. ]
Well, that sucks, 'cause I'm never gonna get closure now. Just makes me think of how getting attached to people here can be dangerous when I'm trying to get out of thinking like that.
no subject
I think... it's okay to get attached to the others here, even if we risk never getting closure.
[ He says that softly, like he's also telling himself this and not just Itaru. What he's worried about isn't necessarily not getting closure, but that he's afraid to invite people in. ]
Trying to keep yourself distant would just hurt you more in the end, I believe. You would wonder about what could have been, and regret not knowing.
no subject
[ he's thinking about it, and he nods. fai is right in the end, but it looks like they both have a long way to go. ]
Well, this is a start, right? I haven't had the chance to talk about that before, so... Thanks.
no subject
[ And because he absolutely cannot resist— ]
Did I just net a lot of affection points with you?
[ That's how Itaru put it, he thinks. ]
no subject
[ that came out of nowhere??? wait, no, that's totally in line with the topic at hand. fai earns a laugh from him anyway. ]
Yeah, you sure did. [ what the heck, don't just turn this around on him!! ] But I won't lose, you know. Whenever you're ready to tell me your backstory, I'll be all ears.
no subject
Are you sure? It's a long story, you know.
[ There's mostly just a lot that is hard to talk about, and he feels like he needs to make it sound lighter than it really is. ]
I wouldn't know where to start, when I do. I might tell you in bits and pieces instead.
no subject
[ he doesn't have boba with him, so he's extending his half of his sandwich towards fai. ]
Deal?
no subject
Fai looks down at Itaru's sandwich for a moment before extending his own half. ]
Deal.
[ He looks down at the ground, then back up at Itaru. ]
...Thank you.
