What: So Rhel wants to get all the information folks may have learned written down! Come help?

[Rhel can only hope that other people are of the same mind when it comes to gathering information. She doesn't know much about this place, she doubts other people know all that much about this place, and the more information they can get and make accessible the better.

So she asks Minato for help and tells the people she recognizes what the plan is and on the eighth of the month she settles down for a day-long info gathering fest.

She's quite pleased with the rather pretty journal and pencil she managed to find, too.]

OOC: Like it says in the explanation, Rhel wants to get all the information everyone's been gathering piecemeal and write it down! Feel free to threadjack if everyone's okay with it, I just play a nerd who'd do this sorta thing.

A what slide? Is that more or less practical than corralling it with ships?

Water slide. Less practical, but it's been able to destroy the fishing boats that approach, so I dunno if we can get close to it in them.

C-can we get a big net? Because I have... an item to maybe stun it with.

I don't know about a net, but... ropes, probably. The fishermen probably have them. Maybe also nets, but we'd have to combine them somehow to be large enough.

[ Even after the Gyarados is knocked out, though, transportation might be a problem unless they have a hundred flying Pokemon to carry it.

That shouldn't be too difficult, though I have no idea how we would keep them connected without magic...does this world have waterproof paste, perhaps?

We could tie them together...

[ A world of magic's made you lazy, Rhel!! We're in the dark ages, gotta find the simplest solution that works. ]

Well, yes, but will that keep them together? The last sea dragon I dealt with was very violent and thrashed about and knocked people around like ragdolls. I don't see why this one would be any different once it realizes what we're doing.

[ This sea dragon will definitely thrash around and try to eat anything in its way if it were caught up in a net without being properly restricted. But Minato doesn't have a good answer to this question that isn't looking about the room hoping somebody knows some really good knots that aren't just triple slip knots to keeping pieces of rope together. ]

How did you handle the last sea dragon you dealt with?

Well, Leviathan was a bit...different than the Gyarados, but we had sort of...well, we used corrupted crystals to dampen his power so I and some allies could beat the shite out of him, essentially. He did not appreciate that and tried to destroy the ships we were on. Nearly succeeded a few times, too.

Huh... Joonghyuk suggested poisoning the Gyarados with berries. Then we could beat the shit out of it... and nearly get destroyed. Might have to rethink the tailend of that plan.

[ Otherwise, it sounds feasible? Brute force. ]

Well, I would hope we'd not get destroyed...

We'd better strategize a way for many weaker Pokemon to overwhelm and overtake a much stronger opponent, then.

[ This is the opposite tactic of what he's ever used, which is to overlevel and face his opponents head on, even without a full team. ]

We can try sending Pokemon to it. Or maybe lure it towards us?

[ hey did someone say raids. bc itaru's here brainstorming of ways as well. ]

There should be a Pokemon move that'd let us do that. I only have one baby Water Pokemon on me, though.

A Pokemon lure... Maybe Bounsweet? Smells sweet. Gets snatched up by bird Pokemon and swallowed all the time.

[ Or maybe just a Pokemon with a move like sweet scent. One that learns the move at a relatively low level. Thank god I'm not playing somebody with Pokemon knowledge who would know any of this. ]

Man, I'd feel bad for Bounsweet... But yeah, they'd know a move like Sweet Scent. Some Bug Pokemon should be able to learn it at a relatively low level too.

[ only, the difference between him and chiaki is that itaru isn't an AI. realistically he wouldn't know each and everyone's moves just yet. ]

Alternatively you might be able to lure it in with Combee honey? Not sure if it'd work on Gyarados in particular, but slathering honey on trees is another way of catching Pokemon.

Mm... I attract a lot of bug Pokemon any time I gather honey from the hives. Maybe... slathering trees with honey, and the resulting bug Pokemon use Sweet Scent...? Somehow.

[ Would they listen to a bunch of people asking them to be Gyarados bait? If they could get this to work, though, it'd be a triple prong honey-sweet scent-grub bait. ]

Mm, you might be onto something here. Hell, we might not have to slather them on trees at all. Like, if someone goes out to the lake with enough jars of honey, we might be able to get Gyarados to go wherever we want it to go.

Who's going to want to do that? ...Though, I guess I would.

[ He supposes!! If nobody else wants to and this is the best idea they can come up with, he supposes he would do it... ]

Maybe somebody as a water Pokemon that can swim fast enough to lure the Gyarados while towing a boat.

[ he doesn't know how to swim, but there should be some lifevests on these boats? hopefully?? ]

Mudkip... You got that from the Game Corner, right? Too bad Castform isn't in the prize rotation.

Yeah, I even made sure to ask before I claimed it. Said that they're rare as they come.

Oh, but Mudkip could proooobably help with the water slide thing? Need to ask Nanami 'bout this to make sure, though.

[Believe him, it hurts part of his teenage heart to choose honesty there over allowing someone to assume he and his wings are cooler than they are. So sad. Only Itaru's inevitable drowning will be sadder.]

The fish is - hold on. [With absolutely no fanfare, he deploys his Basculin onto the floor by his feet, where it squirms impatiently. They're not in a fight, and anyway there's no room to strike a pose in here.] This. It's... a fish. Does it count?
