Open Info Collection Post
Who: Rhel + anyone who wants to help out
Where: Pokemon Center
When: August 8th
What: So Rhel wants to get all the information folks may have learned written down! Come help?
[Rhel can only hope that other people are of the same mind when it comes to gathering information. She doesn't know much about this place, she doubts other people know all that much about this place, and the more information they can get and make accessible the better.
So she asks Minato for help and tells the people she recognizes what the plan is and on the eighth of the month she settles down for a day-long info gathering fest.
She's quite pleased with the rather pretty journal and pencil she managed to find, too.]
OOC: Like it says in the explanation, Rhel wants to get all the information everyone's been gathering piecemeal and write it down! Feel free to threadjack if everyone's okay with it, I just play a nerd who'd do this sorta thing.

[Atsushi hasn't met Rhel, but she's obviously the one. The only cat girl around. The information he brings to the meeting is rather useless for the most part. His investigations so far have been less than fruitful. As he approaches her, he's struck by the notion that this information might not even be what Rhel was referring to. Maybe she wants to know things about Cassava and Toran, this world, and Pokemon. He should have asked, but it's too late now.]
Um, hello... I have, this- here!
[He holds out a Pikachu notebook. It was the cheapest one in the store. Inside, it contains notes under different headers. The writing is large and meticulous, the letters fitting exactly into the ruled lines like it was written by an overachieving seven year old trying to copy words perfectly.]
Are you running this meeting, or can I bring up some... topics?
no subject
It's less a "meeting" and more just trying to get everything organized, so yes, of course you can bring whatever might be relevant up!
no subject
[He's already having second thoughts about bringing anything up. What if they're stupid topics? What if everyone already knows?]
T-they're all announcements, really. The first one... Well, has anyone else just received random... things? F-from home, or not...?

[Considering Fai didn't know what one was, maybe cat lady doesn't either.]
It's a weapon that fires explosive projectiles. Anyway, I have it in my locker at the boba shop because I couldn't find any storage units in Toran. That's unimportant, though. Um, I wanted to maybe use it on the Gyarados if the Mudkips fail.

[Well, she's never heard of that, but...]
How big is this weapon, exactly?

Hello, Fashonti-san. I have some observations to share with you and anyone else here regarding the Boba, Gyarados, and the rain specifically. Take your pick.
no subject
[Since he's referring to her by her last name, it's worth asking.]
The boba has me the most curious, but honestly I'm interested in all three points.
no subject
[ aka please do not call him goro not now not ever-- ]
Well, I can certainly start with the boba. It's fairly obvious that Toran's boba shop is responsible for the collapsed people in the streets; all of their stamp cards had Toran Boba's as the final stamp.
Furthermore, Nakajima-san was able to look into the boba production a little more closely. I think he can give you a more accurate description of the information he gathered.
[ He turns towards Atsushi and gives him a nod. ]
Nakajima-san, if you would?

[Why? Atsushi brought a notebook; they should all just read that. He's dying. He'd going to have a heart attack right here, but he will prevail with semi-public speaking for a minute or two.]
As I said, I work at the boba shop and, well... most of the information I was able to obtain seems to be dead ends; however there is some possibly suspicious activity with where the boba is coming from. Specifically, the honey. Sometimes, it's brought to the shop already in jars and delivered by Minato, who works with the Combees. I think that he's involved, or at least, his Pokemon is. A Yamask. I... had an encounter with her when she came in to order boba and she was... rude.
[He spits it all out as quickly as possible, oblivious to Minato's eavesdropping, and regrets his theories the second they're spoken. A rude Yamask is his top suspect; that is truly pathetic.]
no subject
I...don't think it's Minato, specifically, given how addicted he seems to be to the boba himself.

What observations do you have about the rain?
[ He's curious about all of it, but he'll ask specifically about this while also listening intently to the boba info. ]
no subject
[ Quite literally, too. ]
The tide is rising more and more as each day passes, but the water level appears to be highest around the northwest side of the island.
[ What that means, well, he has no idea. He doesn't say that, though. ]
no subject
[ He shifts, resting his chin in his hand. ]
Did you get a good look around that part of the island?
no subject
While Minato hasn't specifically explored the northwest of the island looking for clues, he has been around the perimeter of the island just due to living here for a month. It looks like the beaches at that corner of the island are largely untouched by the locals compared to the southern half, which may have some stray lounge chairs or folded up umbrellas still stuck in the sand from past beach-goers. It's difficult to notice unless one is specifically looking for differences between the beaches, but Akechi would pick up on the fact that the sand is noticeably rougher on the northwest beach compared to the south.
What any of this means is up to him and everybody else to deduce, though. ]
no subject
[ (Bless you, Ori) ]
The beaches there seem to be relatively untouched compared to the southern half of the island. Seems as though people were avoiding that area, though it could've also been because the sand is rough in the northwest as opposed to the southern side.
[ Hm...interesting. ]
Of course, something greater could have caused this, but that remains to be seen.

GYARADOS RAID
[ While some days it's chill, there are other days where it hyperbeams or hydropumps parts of the island? Shouldn't that be concerning? It's also getting in the way of people using the lake for business, then there's being an invasive species (kind of). ]
If we can tranquilize or immobilize it somehow, then it'd be easier to weaken it as a group and effectively catch it. Pokemon with the ability to inflict these ailments are ideal, but items may work.
[ Anyone interested in giving aid to the Gyarados Relocation Project should speak up!! How to deal with it is also open to suggestions. ]
no subject
[ You know, if defeating it doesn't work, maybe they can just physically slip 'n slide it out to sea, head first so it can't come back. There's no reason to brute force it, even though that's the easiest, most straightforward way to do it. ]

[Which he has mentioned to Rhel already.]

[ Even after the Gyarados is knocked out, though, transportation might be a problem unless they have a hundred flying Pokemon to carry it.
Gestures again at his water slide idea. ]

[ hey did someone say raids. bc itaru's here brainstorming of ways as well. ]
There should be a Pokemon move that'd let us do that. I only have one baby Water Pokemon on me, though.
no subject
[ Or maybe just a Pokemon with a move like sweet scent. One that learns the move at a relatively low level. Thank god I'm not playing somebody with Pokemon knowledge who would know any of this. ]
