[OPEN] 9/15 - Team Meeting
| team meeting plans to go to other islands and other discussions free food at Restaurant Le Nah tomorrow at 6:00pm - Nanami |
[ Upon entering Le Nah the following day, a waiter will show the trainer to a large area in the back with multiple tables pushed together. There are already some appetizers ordered and spread across so feel free to help yourself. Nanami sits near the middle with her Mimikyu, feeding him by dropping little bits of food in front of him, and talking with her Mudkip, who just :V :V :V, as if she understands what he's saying. ]
( ooc: threadjacking is highly recommended in this log as it will be a group discussion! feel free to also create new top-levels that will only have a single type of discussion to keep things focused on the topic. )

[ There are other Pokemon that can cause rain, after all. There is also another part that she wants to address. ]
Also, we're not leaving Toran and never coming back to help, but sometimes, you have to gain some extra levels and get stronger before you can come back to an area to fix things.

I think... I think it's the one they call Lugia. A god of storms - what they mean by "god" here, I couldn't say. But the storm is what started the rain, and the storm is what really didn't want us just sailing out of here.

The games say that if Lugia flaps its wings, it can cause a 40-day storm, but it normally sleeps underwater and in caves. There are a lot of other Pokemon that can also cause it to rain too.

Does it even matter which one is out there? For all we know, half their stories might be wrong. But something attacked us that day, which means there's something we can go looking for.

[ Unlike Sagi, Nanami remains calm. Perks of being an AI. She is chill all the time. ]
no subject
[...OK, yes, he should also calm down again. It would be counterproductive to get too worked up if he's trying to be taken seriously.]
I know that's not exactly evidence... I can't prove that's what happened. But it is what it felt like.

[ She hasn't tried to go out on a boat to get near it. It's dangerous for her to be in the water. She can drown (haha). ]
no subject
[His face falls. She wasn't listening to him in the first place.]
All you've been doing is talking in circles, mentioning places nobody else brought up... Why even call a meeting, then?
no subject
[ She's certainly not trying to position herself as the leader or whatever of this makeshift team. In video games, yes, she can easily take on that role because she's forced into it and the game works around the player, but it's not like that in real life. She's more than content to play the sidekick or the minor background character who only comes out when asked to. She just thought calling on a meeting will be good since there hasn't been a big proper gathering with everyone yet and if a leader appears here, she will happily let them handle the set-up of the next meetings. More sleep for her...! ]
If you don't mean the Gyarados, why do you think it's the actual storm that's fighting? You have to convince others to believe you if you are certain that you're right.
no subject
Yeah, you're right. Sorry.
[He exhales. Geez. He'll be happier when they move onto some topic that doesn't involve the word "gods" quite so much.]
I'm certain of it, I just don't have proof. We took a boat out from the fishing docks by the sea, and then all of a sudden, the storm was exactly overhead. Then it got worse, and started churning up all the water. Somehow, it felt conscious. So... whatever's out there, I think it started by kicking up that first storm two months ago, and it's watching.
no subject
[ She understands that this is very frustrating and it must be overwhelming as well. It's only been two weeks since everyone arrived. There is a lot to take in and deal with. She wonders how her real-life counterpart might have handled this... ]
Mm, do you want to go out and investigate again? A Mudkip can calm down the waters and maybe it'll be enough for you to see through to the bottom or even swim down there.
[ Has anyone tried to go diving yet?? ]
no subject
[ itaru reporting in, placing a comforting hand on sagi's shoulder. he'll try taking it from here, chiaki. ]
Remember our plan last time? I have a Mudkip who can use Whirlpool, so I can at least provide backup. Not sure if I can Dive, though.
no subject
[ He glances at Sagi, and then at the rest of the group. ]
I heard the thunder before I saw lightning.
[ ergo, the storm is alive. ]
I don't think we need to dive. I think it'll be dangerous if we do. But the Mudkips could help us cross the sea... If we can't figure out how to stop the storm, we can escape the island— help others escape the island too— and try to see if we learn anything from the other side of the storm. Gyarados might calm down if the storm does. How does that sound?

[ Well, it's "new" in the sense that it never appeared in any of the games that she played and she played all of them. ]
no subject
I don't know what any of that means, but if this Kyogre is responsible for this neverending storm, I don't know if this orb is really needed or if it's where you seem to think it is.
no subject
[ In the games, there were the protagonists and some NPCs. In real life, she imagines that there are similar people who would try to stop that person. It's hard to believe that everyone would just stand by and let this happen. ]

[ Nanami isn't putting her entire bets on the theory with Kyogre, but if someone wants to look into it, she will certainly help. She will do her part as a helpful NPC. ]
If you need any more information, you can ask me whenever you like.

[Akechi mentioned that last week, and now Rhel has an Idea.]

What about it?

[ ...Maybe it's not the reason, but it's a reason. As Akechi mentioned in the other meeting, the sand is noticeably rougher, as if rock hasn't worn down into fine sand like it has on the other side of the island. ]
no subject
[The texture of the sand may not be relevant. But maybe it is.]
